How to Make and Freeze a Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 2 ½ teaspoons instant or fast rising yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water approximately 110° Fahrenheit plus more, if dough is too dry

Instructions

  • Whisk together all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Add oil and water and mix until a nice soft dough forms. If dough is too dry, add more water 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Knead approximately 2-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a large, greased mixing bowl and flip over so the greased side is facing up.
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour or until dough has doubled in volume.
  • Divide the dough in half. Shape each half into a rough ball.
  • Spray 2 large pieces of plastic wrap with nonstick cooking spray or coat with oil.
  • Wrap each ball of dough in plastic wrap and place in a freezer bag. Date and label the bag.
  • Freeze for 1-3 months.
  • Thaw in refrigerator 1 day before using.
  • Allow pizza dough to stay at room temperature for 1 hour before using.
